Grapevine Fires

"She laughed and danced through the field of graves, there I knew it would be alright, everything would be alright" - We often look at death as dark and depressing, to where a kid "danced through the field of graves" who doesn't understand the meaning of death yet can run around like it's a happy place. "There I knew it would be alright" like it opened his eyes that yeah death is a part of life, but that doesn't have to be depressing, and that everything will be ok.

Coming Up Roses

"This song makes me think about sickle cell anemia (the moon is a sickle cell/it'll kill you), and refers to red and white blood... the sickle cell moon doing division... It's clever. I don't know where to go with that though. It's like sadness is an illness?"

Homecoming Queen

"A horse, a horse my kingdom for a horse" - I know those lines are from Richard III by Shakespeare, a tragedy."
